In 2015, creating better quality jobs remains at the heart of G20’s objective of achieving strong, sustainable and balanced growth. The Turkish G20 Presidency seeks to work with international organizations to understand the factors behind the jobless growth phenomenon and also initiate a discussion on the labour income as a share of GDP. In addition, the following themes will also be taken up by the Presidency: (i) Reducing the gender gap: How to achieve and measure the collective commitment of reducing the gender gap in work participation rates by 25% by 2025, (ii) Youth unemployment, and (iii) Skills and Quality Employment
The work on G20 Employment Agenda until now had been carried out by G20 Task Force on Employment. The Leaders in Brisbane Summit agreed to elevate it to an Employment Working Group in 2015. The Turkish Presidency also seeks to discuss the working arrangements of new Employment Working Group.
